F O O D The centre section has an excellent collection of Desi, Oriental, Italian and fast food dishes. There are also four corner stations: BBQ, Salads, Seafood and Dessert. I always start food with a visit to the Salad bar. Chaupal has a nice selection of salads served in earthen pots. They are all fresh and vibrant. Each salad has a distinctive flavour profile. The food in the centre section is delicious, it tantalises the taste buds as each bite is savoured. The Mutton Yakhni Pulao is something Chaupal knows how to do right. Tarragon Chicken is another must try. Sajji is good without a sprinkling of the overpowering chat masala. If required, a selection of BBQ items is served right at the table. The variety of kebabs is extensive and pretty well made. Chaupal also has fried batair, but I feel it’s overcooked and dry. The seafood is fresh. Fried fish is nothing exceptional but the prawns are prepared perfectly. With all the meat dishes, potato cutlets are a nice vegetarian break. Dinner isn’t complete without dessert. The dessert section, like other sections, boasts of desserts from around the world. From kheer to cheesecakes, the selection is quite varied, and if nothing attracts the eyes, then there is a small selection of ice cream. Everyone can enjoy a sophisticated desi setting, with elegant food. Whether you are a couple or a group of friends, a family of four or thirty, Chaupal knows how to entertain you and your guests. It is, as the name says, truly an exotic experience. 45
