GLOSS Issue 23 JULY 2015 | Page 5

A MESSAGE FROM ME W ELCOME to the July issue of GLOSS. Fittingly, as we reach the end of a financial year’s journey, we are discussing generational journeys this month. From the boardroom to the beach - and this is a little bit of irony for me, as I sit here surrounded by the detritus of an enforced stay in Bali - there are articles in the July issue that will inspire, intrigue and bring you new understanding on the perspectives - and touchpoints for those who span four generations of employment and leadership - Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and the Millenials. I was fortunate enough in the last month to be a part of LBD member Kim Hutchings’ amazing intitiative for young women in Shepparton, and one thing that it truly brought home to BUY FROM ME TO WE NOW! me was how incredibly engaged the newest generation are when it comes to self-leadership. Their intelligent, forthright, funny approach to life, and the values they were espousing told me one thing; that we are in safe hands when it comes to the leaders of tomorrow. For those who have already taken a few steps down the path, and had great success in many fields, I salute you and your courage in following your dreams, especially when you have taken the road less travelled. Enjoy this issue. And, as always, remember to Inspire. Connect. Succeed. JANINE GARNER EDITOR IN CHIEF GLOSS JULY 2015 5
