You inspire many women around the world to move forward in their careers and aim for the corner office, but what/who inspires you to be brave? There are three things that inspire me, beginning with the memory of my mother who was one of the bravest women I know. She didn’t have an easy life but she was brave in everything she did and through her example I learned that not only could I be brave too, but that I must be brave. The second is when I think about all of the women who made it possible for me to achieve what I have. Harriet Tubman, Mary Kay Ash, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Golda Meir are a few of my heroes and they inspire me to continue working for change. The third is just knowing how much more work there is to do before there is true equality between men and women. My work will not be done when there are equal numbers of men and women running corporations, sitting on boards, and leading companies.
