Cruising
I
’ve been on many holidays
with different cruise lines
and ships throughout
my 37 years and for so
many reasons I continue to
choose a cruise as my next
adventure time and time
again! The fact that I can
see so many different places
in one holiday, sample the
best of each, and still come
home to my cosy cabin, sip
champagne on my balcony
whilst we plan the next day
ahead makes this my type
of holiday.
I personally prefer the larger
cruise ships for my holiday
as these offer exactly what
I’m looking for and I love
the great variety of dining
options, entertainment
venues along with the
sports and leisure activities
on board. Ice rinks, rock
climbing walls, surf riders,
zip lines, indoor skydiving,
Formula 1 simulators and
waterparks complete with
slides can all be found on
some ships! But do not panic
if you prefer a smaller and
personal ship where the
staff will know you by name,
and can pour your favourite
tipple without needing to
be asked. There are ships for
you and these tend to focus
more on destination rather
than the extra activities on
board, only with a much
more personal feel.
So whether you’re wanting
culture, adventure or pure
luxury, a cruise provides this
at your fingertips. I really
think there is a cruise ship
and itinerary for everyone
and I can not forget to
mention that if you love
food as I do, then no matter
how large or small your
ship is you really are in for a
culinary treat!
Interesting Fact
On board Princess Cruises
Royal Princess ship, a
staggering 250,000 eggs
are used each week! Sounds
a bit eggstreme doesn’t it?!
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist!)
Top Tip
To get a taste of cruising and
to see if you are ship shape
then try a mini cruise.
Recommendation
Book a balcony cabin if you
can. In my opinion this really
does enhance your experience
- especially sat outside with a
cocktail in hand!
Excursion
Every destination on a
cruise brings a multitude of
excursions on offer but my
personal favourite so far has
to be the grand tour of Rome.
