The Global Issues Network is an international organization of
students in dialogue about the most pressing issues facing the
world, according to Jean-Francois Rischard in his book High
Noon: 20 Global Issues, 20 Years to Solve Them. GIN began in
2003 when six high schools in Europe collaborated to raise money
to build a school in Ethiopia. It has since grown to incorporate over
one hundred schools around the world. A series of worldwide,
regional, and local student-run conferences, the collaborative
student journalism network, Student News Action, and an online
forum help students connect with each other. For more
