In the categories recognising the best providers in selected countries and specialities , Mount Elizabeth Hospital won big , earning the crown for best hospital in the Asia-Pacific ( together with Subang Jaya Medical Centre ) while also taking prizes in a host of diverse fields , including gastroenterology , neurology , and spine and stroke care .
Sunway Medical Centre again snatched the Best Medical Tourism Hospital Award along with recognition for excellence in paediatric ophthalmology and fertility medicine .
Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital was recognised as the best provider in Thailand , while the BDMS Wellness Clinic received the Integrated Health and Wellness Service Provider of the Year Award .
Given the growing importance of technology in healthcare , the judging committee added two new award categories , robotic orthopaedics and genetic testing , both important medical areas where Farrer Park Hospital and GenomixLAB ® came out on top .
