BEST HOSPITALS

BEST HOSPITAL OF THE YEAR IN MALAYSIA

PRINCE COURT MEDICAL CENTRE
Prince Court Medical Centre in the heart of Kuala Lumpur has a reputation for being a medical colossus .
From its opening 13 years ago , its vision has always been to be the Malaysian capital ’ s heavyweight healthcare provider and one of the leading institutions in Asia .
Keeping with that vision , it offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services that serve both Malaysians and the international community .
It is therefore a fitting recipient once again for the Best Hospital of the Year in Malaysia Award at this year ’ s Global Health Asia-Pacific awards , having also won the accolade last year .
“ This award recognises our dedication and commitment in striving for the best care for our patients . It has always been our aim to deliver a better patient experience by constantly pushing our limits beyond our own expectations ,” said Mahenthiran Thanapal , Prince Court ’ s Chief Operating Officer .
Being an internationally acclaimed hospital , he says , Prince Court has always endeavored to excel in all areas . In addition to offering the best clinical services , the hospital strives to meet patient expectations at every touchpoint in its facilities .
For example , it has reduced waiting times to see consultants , introduced seamless registration and bill generating processes , and constantly updated its facilities .
One particular area of note is Prince Court ’ s food service , which is not prepared on a production line , as it is done in other institutions , but on an á

la carte basis . “ Food and beverage has always been one of our signature services . We like to bring a 5-star hotel experience to patients who come here for treatment ,” said Mahenthiran .
From a clinical point of view , the hospital is well staffed with specialists , some of whom are considered “ celebrity doctors ” who are “ sought after by international and local patients ,” the Chief Operating Officer says .
Throughout a challenging 2020 , during which patient throughput has dropped significantly across all hospitals in Malaysia , Prince Court has taken the time to restructure some of its clinical and non-clinical processes to gear up for demand after borders reopen and medical tourists return .
Despite the government-mandated movement restrictions , the hospital conducted live online programmes , with more than 80 webinars taking place online for doctors and patients . It ’ s also been making use of digital marketing to broadcast its services to new patients .
Moving forward , the hospital ’ s services are continuing and even expanding in some areas as it prepares for the end of the pandemic .
More doctors are being recruited for a range of disciplines , including orthopaedics , cardiology , and ENT in order to offer more niche services and become a quaternary care hospital .
“ We want to continuously work on bolstering all the disciplines that we ’ re already strong in . We want to continue strengthening those services and ensure that we bring in new doctors to bring even more depth to the current team of doctors ,” said Mahenthiran .
