The following top healthcare experts helped the team at Global Health Asia-Pacific choose this year ’ s award winners .
Dato ’ Dr Jacob Thomas is chairman of the board of directors of Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare and former president of the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia . He is a Founding Life Member and Counsellor of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health ( MSQH ). Dr Jacob is Vice Chairman of the board of the Joint Commission International ( JCI ). In 2017 , he was appointed by the Prime Minister to be the Champion ( Head ) of the Private Healthcare Productivity Nexus ( PHPN ), a body established under the Malaysia Productivity Corporation ( MPC ), which is a statutory organisation under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry ( MITI ).
A seasoned executive in the healthcare space , Sudi Narasimhan has worked for several medical device manufacturers and is the previous Executive Director of Marketing and Business Development at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi . Prior to this , Sudi worked at Bumrungrad International Hospital as the Corporate Director of Marketing and Business Development . He has many years of experience both in Operations and Sales and Marketing . He studied Engineering and has a keen personal interest in health , wellness , and the prevention of disease .
Marina Tan is currently serving as International Manager Asia Pacific for Joint Commission International . She is responsible for developing relationships between JCI and Asia-Pacific healthcare organisations , governments , ministries , medical societies , and industry clients in their efforts to improve patient safety and health outcomes .
Prior to joining JCI , Marina served as Director for Marketing and Business Development for Fortis Healthcare Limited , a leading integrated healthcare delivery service provider in India . Additionally , Marina served as the Senior Manager of Business Projects at Parkway Pantai , one of Asia ’ s largest integrated private healthcare groups operating in Singapore , Malaysia , India , China , Brunei , and the United Arab Emirates .
Dr Timothy Low is a board member of Farrer Park Hospital and was previously the CEO of Gleneagles Hospital . He is cofounder and CEO of Sheer HC , a leader in Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices in the Asia-Pacific .
With 30 years of experience in both public and private practice , Dr Low brings to the healthcare field both operational and medical knowledge , along with extensive strategic experience .
