Vaquitas are known as the world’s cutest porpoise.
The vaquita, Spanish for little cow, is the world’s smallest porpoise
and one of its most endangered sea mammals. Found only in the
Gulf of California, there are less than 100 Vaquitas left on the
Earth. They are shy by nature so are seldom seen, so much so
that some people think that Vaquitas are mythical. Sadly, they
often get tangled up in fishermen’s nets and die. Because there are
less than 100 left, they are considered extremely endangered.
