BLUE WHALE The blue whale is the largest animal on the planet, weighing as much as 200 tons (approximately 33 elephants). They are the loudest animals on Earth and are even louder than a jet engine. Blue Whales were hunted almost to extinction in the past, although that isn’t allowed any longer. They are still endangered due to climate change, the threat of giant ship propellars and dangerous fishing nets. 6
