CULTIVATING COMPASSION FOR THE EARTH Loving Kindness meditation, also called Metta, is the simple practice of mindful meditation for cultivating compassion and love beginning with oneself, then reaching out to loved ones, all beings of the world, as well as the Earth itself. Compassion is the key character element to raising Global Guardians. Incorporating Metta as a family practice will help reinforce teaching children compassion for the Earth and all who inhabit it. It can also help release anxiety, anger and sadness and help promote an overall sense of well being. 13
