Deutsche Bank has appointed its head of global transaction banking ( GTB ) for Ireland as its new global head of securities services , relocating the role from London to Dublin . Fiona Gallagher will take on the position with immediate effect and will continue as chief country officer for Ireland .

Graham Ray has stepped down from his new role as EMEA head of securities services for Deutsche Bank just a month after receiving the promotion , Global Custodian understands . Ray has worked within securities services at the German bank for over a decade , and was involved in a management shake-up in May .

BNP Paribas Securities Services has hired Deutsche Bank ’ s former global head of investor services sales in a newly created regional role . Stanislas Beneteau joined the French bank as regional head of the financial intermediaries and corporates clients ( FI & C ) line for the UK , Middle East and South Africa ( MESA ).

One of Standard Chartered ’ s most senior North Asian securities services experts , Barnaby Nelson , is set to depart by the end of June . Nelson , who led the securities services business for North Asia and Greater China , will leave to pursue opportunities outside of banking .

MUFG Investor Services has made several leadership changes following the appointment of a new interim chief executive officer ( CEO ). Eiji Ihori will take on the role from 1 July , replacing Mark Porter who is stepping into an advisory role as a non-executive director . John Sergides , global head of sales will become deputy CEO and Mac Kirschner , global head of relationship management , will assume the role of chief operating officer ( COO ).

Northern Trust has appointed former BNY Mellon managing director David Kim as head of sales for the corporate and institutional business across the Asia-Pacific ( APAC ) region . Kim will lead a team of sales managers across the region to continue growth in asset servicing sales to intuitional investors and investment managers .

A former Deutsche Bank board member will join Deutsche Boerse ’ s executive board to oversee its post-trade business , Clearstream . Stephan Leithner , currently a partner for Swedish private equity firm EQT Partners , will join the committee in July where he will be responsible for all post-trade businesses , as well as the data and index business .

CACEIS Bank has become a direct participant of the pan-European harmonised settlement platform TAR- GET2 Securities ( T2S ) through Italy ’ s central securities depository ( CSD ) Monte Titoli . Directly Connected Participant ( DCP ) status enables a single connection directly to the T2S system as authorisied by a CSD or central bank .

HSBC could spend up to $ 17 billion over the next two years on investments in new technologies , according to the bank ’ s latest strategy update . Chief executive , John Flint , laid out the plans as part of the company ’ s new strategy from now until 2020 , with priorities including expanding the business in Asia and increasing network and digital capabilities .

Apex has agreed to takeover private equity administrator and depositary Ipes in a deal that will propel it becoming the world ’ s fifth largest fund administrator . The deal will add $ 165 billion in assets under administration to Apex ’ s portfolio , while taking on 195 new clients and 265 staff across five European offices .

DTCC has connected its global trade repository to securities financing data firms EquiLend , Trax , IHS Markit and Pirum to ease the process for incoming reporting requirements . BNY Mellon and Deutsche Bank have integrated chatbots built on the Symphony messaging platform , which will be rolled out for trading securities on the Hong Kong exchange . Using the new chatbots , trade settlement status queries for the Hong Kong market will be available to both banks using Symphony .

BNP Paribas Securities Services has gone live with an inventory management solution designed to automate the transfer of securities between different markets . Using active forecast and position management technologies , the new service ensures securities purchased by the custodian ’ s asset manager and asset owner clients are automatically moved at the end of every day to their domestic market .
