Match Day celebration.
RSVP FOR THE GLMS
PRESIDENTS’ CELE-
BRATION ASAP
This year’s event was held at the Mellwood Arts Center. There,
students received sealed envelopes which, once opened, would
reveal the cities and hospitals they would soon call home. At noon,
everyone tore them open at once. Shouts of joy and excitement
filled the space as the new residents took the next step towards
becoming physicians.
Join us on Sunday, May 21 for our annual Presidents’ Celebra-
tion, to celebrate our outgoing President Dr. John Roberts and to
welcome incoming GLMS President Dr. Robert Zaring.
The event will be in two parts. From 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., the ceremony
and ticket pick-up will be held at the new GLMS Headquarters:
328 East Main Street (corner of Main and Preston). During this
time, tickets to the game will be handed out. We will have light
refreshments provided by Quills Coffee, Steel City Pops(icles) and
Harvest available in our building.
During that hour the guard will be passed from Dr. Roberts to Dr.
Zaring. Also, the winners of the Richard Spear, MD, Memorial Essay
Contest will be announced.
At 2:05, the baseball game across the street at Slugger Field will
begin. GLMS has purchased tickets for our members. However,
seats are limited. Each member will receive up to 4 tickets for
their family. It is Kid’s Day at Slugger Field as well, so kids eat free.
You must RSVP by May 1 to reserve your tickets. Visit
