Passers-by can appreciate a rich marble material, unique to Bankers Hill
architecture, adorning the entire exterior façade. What they might not
realize is the level of detail that went into both selecting the Volakis marble,
carefully imported from a remote hillside in Greece, to installing it. Using a
technique called ‘book-matching,’ each marble panel was precisely paired
with the next for an uninterrupted veining affect, achieving the appearance
of one continuous slab that covers all 14 stories.
Responsible for innovative, sustainable design around the world, Canadian
firm DIALOG was entrusted with The Park’s dynamic architecture. By
implementing design considerations that include continuing the Volakis
marble into residence interiors, flooding each home with natural light with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and extending living spaces onto
private terraces that average over 468 square feet, DIALOG,
alongside the Zephyr team, was able to create the most
exclusive building in all of San Diego.
The sophistication and style extend beyond home interiors, into
the building’s impressive lobby and amenity areas. With Lorena
Gaxiola providing direction on the interiors, these common
areas continue the use of immaculate finishes and precision
details. The Park’s lobby is dressed on one side in a rich 3D
Walnut wood treatment that provides contrast to the light
tones of the marble and is positioned vertically to extend the
height of the room. Welcoming visitors from outside, full-height
glass walls and doors illuminate the lobby, and lead to a guest
elevator with a timed-access feature.
Gaxiola’s design contributions continue into each residence of The
Park, by way of vibrant flooring, marble and tile selections that
comprise three design schemes. Homeowners will have the option
to select their preferred design scheme before their residence is
completed or continue with a preselected design instead.
Thanks to JB Noble’s interior design of the model home,
future homeowners get a definitive look at the luxury afforded
to them when purchasing one of 60 residences at The Park,
ranging in price from $1.25 to $5 million. Luxurious furnishings,
