recently sponsored
the “Tee’d Off at Cancer” charity event.
It was held at Fairbanks Ranch Country
Club in Rancho Santa Fe. The annual
event raised $85,000 for the Polster
Cancer Center at Scripps in La Jolla.
Judith Goodwin founded the fundraiser
in 2011 to raise money for the center
where she was treated and saved
from breast cancer. “Judith’s story is
so inspiring, and we are blessed to be
involved with this event,” Kerry shared
with Giving Back Magazine. She plays
competitive-league golf with the WGA
ladies golf group that played for the
charity. “It’s a mini but mighty group that
was able to raise an incredible amount of
money to help fight this terrible disease.”
Breast cancer claims the lives of 40,000
women in the United States each year.
Scripps treats more breast cancer
patients each year than any other health
system in San Diego. The funds raised
at the “Tee’d Off at Cancer” event help
the world-class medical leaders and
staff save lives, sustain quality programs
and services, and advance innovative
technology and research.

Scott Appleby and Kerry Appleby Payne
are a dynamic brother-sister duo who
were raised in La Jolla. They spent their
school years and early post college years
in La Jolla. Then, they moved up the
coast to Del Mar. Finally, they settled in
Rancho Santa Fe with their families. They
have both owned property in all three
luxury neighborhoods. This makes them
uniquely qualified to call themselves “real
estate specialists” in La Jolla, Del Mar
and Rancho Santa Fe.
