Programs supported by the Women’s Auxiliary include the Adult Rehabilitation Centers,
CARS (Coordinated Assistance for Residential Stability), Homeless Outreach, Shelter
Transition Employment Program Services (STEPS), the Door of Hope residential facility
- a 7-acre campus that will become “Rady Residence at Door of Hope”, with new
housing construction provided by an historic gift from Ernest and Evelyn Rady in 2018.

Being selected as a Salvation Army Woman of Dedication is an honor bestowed by
former Women of Dedication. Each year, the chosen Honorees reflect the highest level
of community volunteerism and leadership throughout San Diego County. 10:30 a.m. –
Silent Auction and
Boutique Shopping
Tradition has it that each Woman of Dedication is notified (and greatly surprised) by
a dozen long-stem yellow roses, informing her of her very special honor. The SAWA
Women of Dedication Luncheon is one of San Diego’s most successful and enduring
philanthropic traditions that continues to support the essential work of The Salvation
Army, year after year. 12:00 p.m. –
