S
ince 1979, the San Diego American
Indian Health Center (SDAIHC)
has strived to meet its mission
of “excellence in health care with
respect for custom and tradition”
by focusing on care for the mind, body and spirit;
the whole person. SDAIHC has provided high
quality, comprehensive, compassionate primary
medical, dental and behavioral health care to
its community. A youth center provides early
intervention/prevention programs that are so
needed in today’s environment. The organization
has earned trust and loyalty by serving
American Indian/Alaskan Native and low income
community members with respect, dignity and

cultural sensitivity as a Patient Centered Medical
Home and as a safety net providing essential
health care and social services. It is a key
resource experiencing more than 20,000 visits
each year to its downtown facility.
In January 2018, SDAIHC launched a capital
campaign to raise $11 million to renovate existing
space and renovate a recently acquired building in
order to double its capacity of families served. The
Center is asking for your support and invites you to
find out more; all contributions to SDAIHC are tax
deductible.
As part of its commitment to the community,
SDAIHC has organized the Balboa Park Pow Wow.
