While abroad I learned the true

meaning of the saying, ‘the sky’s the
limit’ and I worked towards it. I have
perfected 4 languages and I have
established a global non-profit
organization called the African
Youth Initiative for which I am the
President. I am not planning to stop
there!

I am not one to blame my
culture for the shortcomings I
have come to notice within
myself, but my conservative
and highly patriarchal society
has certainly showed me my
own limits as a woman.

Travelling abroad has made
me comfortable in my own
skin. I have realized that my
boundaries are those limits
I set for myself. I soon learnt
that being a woman is not a
limitation, because one
country’s standard has
become obsolete in our
interconnected, global world.
