Puerto Escondido This town is
like a mini version of a Californian
surfing town, mixed with the comforts of a big metropolis. Puerto
Escondido’s charm is in its Costera where you will find a variety of
international restaurants, mostly
owned by friendly European immigrants who loved this place
so much they wouldn’t leave. At
night, most restaurants transform
into bars offering refreshing cocktails and the classic micheladas
(a mix of Mexican beer, lemon,
salt and chili powder). During the
day, the best activity is to hit the
beach. Head to Carrizalillo for
some big waves, and if in doubt,
there is a friendly group of surfers
willing to teach the basics for a
fee. If you prefer to relax, you can
go for a delicious Piña Colada and
enjoy the day under a palm tree.
