Daily Care
If you wear makeup during
the day or live / work in an
area with heavy pollution, you
should definitely be cleaning
your face at least twice a day,
once in the morning and once
before you go to bed. Daily care
consists of three steps: cleansing, toning and moisturising.
Cleanse
Your choice of cleanser is dependent on your skin type. The
only people who should be using gel or foaming cleansers
are people with oily skin. Even
then, I recommend using such
a cleanser only once a week.
These cleansers dry out your
skin, giving you that ‘squeaky
clean’ feeling that you think is
best for you, but which turns
to a greasy feeling a bit later as
your skin tries to replenish its
protecting layer of sebum.
Milky cleansers are actually an
oil in water emulsion. These
are great for almost all skin
types and have slightly different formulas, too. Why do you
want oil in your cleanser? Oil
dissolves dirt, oil and makeup.
Oil cleansers are also available,
and can be made super easily.
