This Girl Gone International’s
eclectic career ranges from VJing at
a dance event held at Amsterdam’s
Stedelijk Museum and producing
her own music video, Flowerbomb,
(available through iTunes), to having
her colourful, mind-bending digital
collages exhibited at the Fine Art
Museum of Long Island in the US.
WHY AMSTERDAM?
Amsterdam felt totally different
from Japan. The art world is largely
ignored in Japan. When I used to tell
people I was an artist there, they’d
think I was crazy. I arrived in
Amsterdam and there was a
thriving community of creatives.
Every one is really open and direct
here. They don’t care where you’re
from which is the opposite attitude
to that of Japanese culture.
