1. At the age of 17 I had the first beer of my life in the USA. 2. Beirut is a wild city, a sensational mix of religions and traditions, but I never thought I would live a double life here. When travelling I have the freedom to do what I want, but when I return to Lebanon I can’t. For example, I can only enjoy happy hour at the pubs in Beirut because the local curfew is 8pm! Madrid 3. I brought the book Night by Elie Wiesel back from the States to learn about the cruelty of the Holocaust and to show others in Lebanon the other side of the story as Holocaust literature is banned in my home country. 4. I am secular. I am a woman ob- sessed with science, evolution, philosophy and psychology – but I will never forget the feeling I had when I entered Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona. Barcelona 5. Being a huge fan of the footballer Messi, made entering Camp Nou football stadium in Barcelona a very emotional moment for me! I cried. 6.
