My Roots
I grew up on a small family farm in the
western part of Washington State, USA.
Growing up on a farm, I was blessed
with a rich range of fresh foods. Foods
we grew ourselves, as well as those
that we traded with neighboring farms.
If any place will engender a spirit of
do-it-yourself, it’s a family farm.
The Travel Bug
However, I knew I wasn’t a stay-at-home
girl. I had an itch to travel and moved
across America for University. After
graduation I took a much bigger leap,
went international, and moved across
the globe to Prague. Throughout these
first years of travel I found that whenever
I moved, wherever that might be, it took
me further away from products I knew
and loved. Living in places far from home
taught me to search for the things I needed, and if I couldn’t find them, I made them
for myself! I began cooking a lot which in
turn also led me to gardening. These two
activities gave me a better understanding
of the properties and homeopathic qualities
of common kitchen herbs and what they
can do to benefit your health.
