7 . Best Temple
Wat Pho , being less touristy than The Grand Palace , has beautiful grounds and is home to the famous and must see larger than life Reclining Buddha . This temple is also known as the birthplace of Thai massage . Remember to wear long pants and no tank tops if you want to enter .
8 . Must Do Tour
The longtail boat tours , called Klongs can be 2 to 4 hours long and tour the Chaopraya River and many back canals of Bangkok . At most of the piers along the Chaopraya River you can also rent a reasonably priced private longtail boat for about 1400 baht .
9 . Treat Yourself
Thai massage is different than a traditional oil massage . It can be painful for some people , but for most it gives you the feeling of floating on air afterwards ! The best Thai massage for your money in Bangkok I found was at King and I Sukhumvit Soi 12 , Bangkok . Call to make a reservation during the weekend on 02-653-0700 . The best is traditional Thai massage , it ’ s 90 minutes for only 400 THB ( 10 €). If you ’ re heading off to the beach after spending some days in Bangkok , treat yourself to a mani / pedi at Take Care . Manicure + Pedicure is around 1000 thb , 25 € for both .
10 . Don ’ t leave without ..
Experiencing Thai Public Transport ! * Go on the SkyTrain or a boat * Take a Tuk-Tuk ride . Haggle a decent price out of the drivers . * Try a moto-taxi . If you ’ re late for a date and need to get through traffic this is the best way to travel through Bangkok , but remember to hang on tight !
And finally , if possible try to learn some simple words in Thai ! To say ‘ Thank You ’ coming from a female GGI , it ’ s ‘ Khop Khun Kha !’
Tuk-Tuks are always on the street waiting to take you where you need to go
