Garlic City Café • 7461 Monterey Street We must admit that we haven ’ t had a chance to go there for dinner but their lunches are really good . You don ’ t want to go on a short time frame as the restaurant is small and very popular , during the lunch hour especially . But we go there often and feel it is worth the time commitment . Chef Diego makes some great specials and there is always something new to try .

First Street Coffee House • 1211 First Street Konni Thomas and Kassi Swalbosk ( mother and daughter ) are just delightful and make every visit to First Street Coffee House fun . Starbucks or Pete ’ s have nothing on their coffee — actually we like it better . And they make the best deli sandwiches in town . The soup is pretty good too . Call ahead and they ’ ll have your sandwiches ready when you get there .
