You don ’ t have to travel , commit to a long-term academic program , or pay exorbitant private college tuition to get certified in a fast-track career field through Gavilan College Community Education . These are the courses for people who want to get their skills and certification and get to work . Either online or in person , these not-for-credit programs can get you where you want to go .
This year , we added new programs including Personal Fitness Trainer certification , Veterinary Assisting , and EKG Technician certification . The popular series ’ in Water Treatment and Wastewater Management are continuing to draw students anxious to advance in these growing fields . The fast-track Pharmacy Technician program will be offered again in the fall . There is even an online program to become a Paralegal or Legal Secretary . To enhance your skillset , there is a certificate program in Social Media for Business .
Other online career programs include Certified Bookkeeper , Administrative Dental Assistant , Administrative Medical Specialist , Payroll Practice and Management , AutoCAD , Video Game Design and Development , Certified Wedding Planner , and Six Sigma Green or Black Belt .
Of course , if you ’ re looking to learn for learning ’ s sake ( or just to have fun !) we have an incredible variety of in-person and online classes to choose from .
