Gilroy Today 2011 06 Summer | Page 21

I can think of another fun thing to do on a trail – horseback ride ! I really hope I get to learn how to ride a horse this summer ! I love horses and collect stuffed horses . I ’ m in luck – my Dad says Johnny 6 Stables on New Avenue is offering two summer camps for beginner riders . I ’ m so excited – not only will I learn how to ride , I ’ ll also get to take care of a horse , take care of the equipment , play games , do crafts and lots of other horsey stuff !
A couple of weeks later , my Mom and Dad take me to see a children ’ s play , “ 101 Dalmatians .” Presented by the city of Gilroy , the play is so much fun to watch ! Daisy would have really liked it ! I hope I get to be in a play one day !
I also have more time to play soccer this summer – one of my favorite sports . I started playing last fall and really enjoyed it . Honu Family Sports Camp hosts a variety of sports camps where kids can learn the basics of basketball , volleyball , soccer , kickball and other field games .
Wow – I have so much planned this summer . One of the things I wasn ’ t counting on was some news that my Mom and Dad told me over dinner earlier this week . I was eating one of my favorite dinners of tofu and vegetable tempura at Sushi Omakase on Camino Arroyo when they told me that I ’ m going to have a baby brother or sister next year ! I am so excited – I ’ ve always wanted to be a big sister ! I ’ ll be able to teach him or her so much fun stuff and show them all the wonderful things about living in Gilroy !
