To get a better handle on customer service , Don plans to take a few days and become a City Hall “ greeter ” to citizens who have business at City Hall . Don will welcome them to City Hall and direct them to the correct department and , if possible , accompany citizens who are getting a building permit , a business permit or a recreation sign up . It will be quite a sight to see the Mayor accompany a new business owner as he or she maneuvers the business permit process ! Way to go Don !
Don has already hosted two “ Coffee with the Mayor ” events and will be scheduling more . City Council watchers have already noted a new spirit of cooperation at Council meetings . It is refreshing to see a strong “ restart ” and we look forward to the construction of a new vision and mission for the City of Gilroy .
