Mary Ann & John Sorci
Mary Ann & John Sorci moved to Gilroy 8 ½ years ago from San Jose , on the Cupertino boarder where they lived for 26 years . They raised four children , three boys and a girl . When the kids all left home , and one daughter and family moved to Morgan Hill , John and Ann decided it was time for a move . Instead of the usually downsizing , they upsized to their current Country Estates home .
Originally the Sorci ’ s looked for homes in the Blossom Hill , Silver Creek areas of San Jose , and then expanded their search to Morgan Hill . But when an appointment was moved back , allowing for some extra time , they ventured to Gilroy to visit a couple open houses . They purchased the second house they visited . John notes that in July 2004 they found the housing value in Gilroy to be much better than South San Jose and Morgan Hill .
They are very pleased with their decision today , saying that they really like the location of their home . “ It ’ s not totally isolated . We have neighbors , but they are not on top of us . And , we have a security guy living next door .” With a large growing family ; currently seven grand children , their 3,900 sq . ft . home provides all the room they need to accommodate family dinners of 16 and holiday dinners of 26 plus . It has a wonderful family / kitchen area perfect for visiting while preparing food and making cookies with the grandchildren .
An avid sports fan , John ’ s office contains all types of sports memorabilia as well as trophies he obtained during his years of coaching .
