Imagine where you can go when you open a book… GILROY ROTARY CLUB Flower Fest Every spring, Syngenta Flowers unveils their new products to the horticultural industry and holds a gigantic event to show experts from around the globe what’s new. At the end of the show, they open their doors to the public and invite them to shop right out of their greenhouses. Funds raised at this once-ayear event are combined with other funds raised by the Gilroy Rotay Club at the Gilroy Garlic Festival Wine Tent as well as individual donations. Close to $100,000 a year is raised to support local youth programs. The proceeds from the auction will pay for new textbooks and resources for St. Mary School students. In addition, a “last man standing” donation at the end of the bidding will pay for a new sound system for the school’s gym. The auction, before expenses have been calculated, brought in $80,000. The emcee/auctioneer was Lissa Kreisler from KBAY radio.
