May these quiet hills bring peace — To the souls of those who are seeking .

behind their living room couch was purchased over 25 years ago in Fort Bragg ; years before they had any idea that they would one day live in the country .
The home has experienced several remodels over the years , including the “ ugly 70 ’ s one ” according to Joe Giacalone . Today it is a 2,600 square foot house with three bedrooms , three bathrooms and a separate granny unit / studio . The backyard pool is large and serves as a focal point for a large barbecue and entertainment area . The home sits on a four-acre lot affording lots of room to roam . It sits across the street from one of the few remaining apricot orchards in Santa Clara Valley . Unlike homes that are built all at once , this home has many an addenda , like a beautiful bedroom at the end of a walkway , or an unexpected view out a hallway window , or the comfortable outdoor living room by the pool . There are a pleasant number of knick knacks and quirky accents .
The house has a calm , easy feel to it . There is a great mix of beautiful antiques , family memorabilia and modern conveniences . Old style built in ’ s , modern lighting , appliances and electronics mix comfortably . Joe ’ s favorite part of the house is the newly remodeled kitchen area . For an Italian who likes to cook and loves sports , the open kitchen area with the large flat screen is close to paradise .
Patty loves the views both up the hill towards the East and down the hill West . When the orchard across the road is drying apricots and the sun is setting “ there is a wonderful orange glow that is absolutely gorgeous .” It is country living only five minutes away from town and it is always slightly cooler than down below ! There is definitely something special about the property that evokes a sense of relaxation and peace — a true retreat .
