When we reached Danxia Mountain, some of our group took the cable car, while three of us decided to climb to the Sun
Viewing Pavilion on the summit. It was an easy–to-moderate ascent, punctuated by some pretty steep staircases. One
staircase had a chain available so visitors could haul themselves up from one step to the next. After about 45 minutes
we reached the top, caught our breath, and took in the exhilarating views of the Danxia landscape.
