MRI Somerset imaging Centre utilises the Siemens Magnetom ALTEA ( 1.5T ), the latest MRI scan model . The scan acquisition time can be reduced by one third with superior image quality .

Typically , this test is done by giving intravenous adenosine infusion ( medication to stress the heart muscle ). Its findings will help doctors determine if coronary artery revascularisation ( coronary artery stenting or coronary artery bypass grafting surgery ) is needed .
Mammogram 3D mammography , also known as digital breast tomosynthesis , is an FDA-approved advanced technology that takes multiple images , or X-rays , of breast tissue to recreate a 3-dimensional picture of the breast . 3D mammography is considered very safe as the radiation exposure to the breast is very low . 3D mammography makes a tumour easier to see as the impact of the overlapping breast tissue is minimised . Studies have shown that 3D mammography can detect 34 percent more breast cancer in screening than conventional 2D mammography .
CT-Scan Somerset Imaging Centre utilises the Siemens Somatom 128-Slice CT Scanner , which offers the most advanced multi-slice technologies on the market . It produces high-speed , high-resolution imaging at the lowest dose and is designed to improve patient comfort and safety while offering uncompromised performance .
CT Coronary Angiogram The only test that can reveal 0 to 100 percent narrowing of the heart arteries . It is primarily used for detection of narrowing or obstruction of heart arteries allowing for potentially corrective therapy .
Endoscopy Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Singapore and all over the world . Screening and detection with a colonoscopy and early treatment are of paramount importance for patients ’ survival . A gastroscopy is a very important test for evaluating for stomach cancer and the cause or source of abdominal pain .
Ultrasound An ultrasound allows for the evaluation of the internal organs and diagnosis of abnormalities without use of radiation . The centre aims to provide a dedicated ultrasound service at the most affordable price for patients .
