Despite the enormous difficulties posed by the ongoing pandemic , Global Health Asia-Pacific was able to turn 2020 into a year of growth with the addition of a new feature to its longstanding recognition of the best hospitals in the region .
Last December , the company launched the first Clinic and Medical Centre Awards to celebrate the best doctors and medical practices in the Asia-Pacific — a complement to the Global Health Asia-Pacific ’ s annual staple event , the Asia-Pacific Healthcare and Medical Tourism Awards , that selects the best hospitals in the region .
Held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore , the new event saw prizes awarded to some 80 clinics and doctors .
Professor Christopher Chen and Dr Beng Kian Siew Jimmy each received the Lifetime Achievement Award for their contributions to the fields of fertility and urology , respectively . Dr Chen managed to freeze a human egg for the first time paving the way for improved fertility treatments , while Dr Beng was among the pioneers who introduced a non-surgical procedure for breaking kidney stones .
Parkway Cancer Centre was crowned as both the Medical Centre of the Year and Oncology Medical Centre of the Year in the Asia-Pacific for its comprehensive multidisciplinary team of experts who have successfully treated cancer patients for 15 years .
MWH Medical received awards in the fields of ear , nose and throat care , cardiology , and ophthalmology , while the BDMS Wellness Clinic came out on top for its regenerative medicine and dental treatments .
Aesthetic providers were also awarded prizes for services like hair transplants , cosmetic procedures , and spa treatments .
Drawing on this event , we plan to compile a print and online list of the best clinics in Singapore , Malaysia , and Thailand , with the later addition of Indonesia , Vietnam , and India .
