It can become a reality if high assertiveness and high cooperation prevails as the standard and not the
exception.
Even more importantly we need to understand the existing culture in order to understand ourselves.
Only by fighting back the forces acting within us, those that define who we are today, and we strongly
oppose, we have a last chance to shape up the groups we would like to belong in the future.

Dimitris is a Safety Consultant and Trainer.He carries an Aviation experience that was initially earned as a helicopter pilot for the
Greek Army Aviation. During his 22 years with the military, in addition to normal flying duties, he was also flight instructor,
examiner of airmen, and VIP transport captain. He commenced his acquaintance with the investigation process during his
military years, which later on led also to his accreditation as an Air Safety Investigator, by an International Body (ISASI) and his
role, as the accredited representative of the Greek Army, to the Greek AAIASB. After his honorary retirement, the Greek Air
Accident Investigation & Safety Board (AAIASB) had assigned him with several investigations, either as technical advisor or as
Investigator in Charge, which made Dimitris eligible for an ISASI full Membership.Dimitris continued to further his theoretical
knowledge, completing his MBA with the University of Leicester. His thesis titled ‘’Developing a Safety Culture or Implementing a
SMS: The case of Organisations operating helicopters’’ having been well received in numerous international forums. In 2013 the
paper had been found by IHST (International Helicopter Safety Team) and ever since it is also posted on their website.
Dimitris continuously evolves his investigation skills and is the only Greek Accident Investigator who had been accepted twice, to
presenting papers, to the Annual European Accident Investigators Summits. A few years ago he managed to persuade Greek
AAIASB to endorse a new methodology in Incident and Accident Analysis. The so called ‘’Tripod Methodology’’ he had officially
applied for the first time in Greece depicted the causes of a severe helicopter accident which occurred back in 2010.Since
January 2015 Dimitris, is Adjunct Faculty member at San Jose State University, in USA, submitting an accident investigation
course for Aeronautical Engineers.Dimitris offers training and consultation, not only in Aviation Industry, but additionally, to all
High Reliability business market segment Entities, including Maritime, Oil& Gas and Military organisations, in fields of Accident
Investigation, Risk Assessment and Change Management.
Bow Tie, TRIPOD methodologies are consuming his most vivid interest and he is also considered an expert in Safety Culture
Mapping, the depiction of Organisational Culture, within high risk firms.
