Outdoor Ice Rinks

The outdoor ice rinks will have a new location this season near the Wheeler
Park Maintenance Facility, 410 Wheeler Drive. There will be three sheets of
ice, one dedicated for general skating and two for hockey. An additional
outdoor ice skating option will be available in the grass area next to Mill
Creek Pool.
All ice rinks are weather permitting. Parking is available at both locations.
Directions: From Rt. 31, turn west on Stevens Street (South of Stone Creek
Miniature Golf ), and right on Wheeler Drive (just past the cemetery)
ICE MAKING & ICE RINK STATUS
Creating the ice is an interesting process. In order for the appropriate amount of ice to be prepared, the temperature has to remain at 20 degrees or
below for at least 48 hours. Once we have reached those ideal conditions, the process of forming ice will begin and enjoyment of skating follows.
