If you've always dreamed of becoming a rock star,
it's never too late to learn. Students learn basic
guitar skills including tuning theory, technique
an chords. Acoustic, electric or classical guitars
acceptable. Please note: supply your own guitar or rent on-

instrument. Students learn basic strumming,
chords, music theory and popular songs to play.

What temperature do certain meats need to be
cooked at? Is there an art to boiling water for
pasta? Learn the correct way to bake chicken
breasts and make a finishing sauce. Enjoy
your meal or take it for lunch. We will touch on
pantry and organization of your supplies and
how to label. (JK) Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - get the basic
guidelines on how to, what to, and why to
recycle in your curbside bin. Also learn about
where you can recycle nearly everything at drop-
off locations: Styrofoam, electronics, hazardous
waste, batteries, paint, and more. Discussion
includes a power point with questions and
answers, plus giveaways. The new Green Guide
will be introduced and available for you to
take. Attend this opening session of Batavia’s
Earth Hour and plan to stay for the rest of the

Almost everything you do in the kitchen
revolves around the efficient use of your knives.
With practice, you soon find that much of the
tedium of cooking prep will disappear. Learn
how to slice and dice quickly, how to buy a
knife, hone it, chiffonade, supreme, and chop
garlic and parsley. If you can, please bring a six
or eight-inch knife, a paring knife, honing steel,
and 9 x 12-inch cutting board to the session. (JK)
