Sunset Dance Company Information
Sunset Dance Companies foster creativity , confidence , and communication in a friendly , no-cut environment . The Sunset Dance Companies provide participants with the opportunity to experience various disciplines of dance at a high standard of teaching .
For dancers who wish to study dance more seriously , we encourage joining one of our dance companies . The Sunset Dance Companies perform at a variety of events throughout the year . A fullyear commitment is required to participate in the Sunset Dance Companies . The 2017-18 season is September 2017 - July 2018 . Members are required to be enrolled for the entire 11 month season . Auditions are held in August .

Available Dance Companies- ( Sept . - July ) Performance Company
Ages 5 + yrs Performance Company members receive an introduction to our dance company experience by participating in recitals and performances , without the intensity of competitions . All Level 1 students and above may join the Performance Company ; auditions are not required . Performance Company members must take two classes per week ( one technique class and one Performance Company class ).
It ’ s a perfect combination of physical activity , social interaction , and mental stimulation .

Sunset Dance Company ( Competitive )
Ages 5 + yrs Competitive Company members study and perform at a higher level , taking three or more classes per week ( two technique classes and one Competition Company class ). Participants will learn in a supportive environment , and be encouraged to bring forth their best effort . Competitive Company members will compete at two competitions each season , and have the opportunity to perform at a variety of local events .
Level 1 or 2 students may join the Competitive Company . At the beginning of each season , company members will be divided into levels , as well as being given the opportunity to experience different dance styles and choose the ones in which they would like to compete . Note : If the dancer wants to compete in more than one dance style , they will be required to take that additional company class ( i . e . Lyrical Company class or Finale Company class )

Spring 2018 Dance Recital Information
Dress Rehearsal , Pictures & Recital Dates may be May 19 or 20 , more details will be available in April . Participants will be measured for costumes during the first class . Parents will be required to attend first class for a brief meeting . Costume is included in fee .

Dress Rehearsal & Picture : Geneva High School Auditorium Information regarding what recital your dancer ( s ) will be in will be out after Spring Break , in April Every effort is made to get siblings in different classes in the same show , however it is not guaranteed . Please note : dancers may be in different shows that may be scheduled on different days .
Purchase dance tights and shoes through us ! Please order tights by April 25 , code 1210331-01 . You will receive an email with directions to pick up at the Sunset Community Center front desk . Please order recital flowers to give your dancer by April 25 .
