Winter Break STEM Camp
Age 6-14
This STEM Camp provides activities for new and experienced children using a creative
educational approach that supports Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Each
day will have different STEM disciplines from Robotics to Electrical Engineering to Mechanical
Engineering. Each day will present a new challenge for all ages and experience.

STEM Learn How to Code

Prepare your kids for the future! In this exciting class children
learn programming essentials with software developed by MIT
and other recognized teaching solutions. It allows children to
program their own interactive stories, games and animations. It
encourages systematic reasoning, creativity and helps them to work
collaboratively. This class is a multi-level program where children are
placed based on skill and experience. Students can move up a level
each time they take the class to take on more advanced concepts.

Chasewood Learning STEM Camps LEGO® Engineering
This STEM Camp provides activities for new and experienced children
using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math (STEM). Each day will have different STEM disciplines
from Robotics to Electrical Engineering to Mechanical Engineering. Each
day will present a new challenge for all ages and experience. Children in this multi-level class will learn basic to advanced engineering
concepts using LEGOs. Models such as powered cars, cranes, and a solar
windmill are examples of Chasewood’s teacher- led instruction followed
by fun, engaging and dynamic activities. At the end of the session,

LEGO® Robotics Academy 3D Video Game Design
The Lego Robotics Academy is a comprehensive repeatable afterschool
program where children learn to design, build, and program robots.
Using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math (STEM), this class is instruction followed by fun,
engaging and dynamic activities. The Robotics Academy is a repeatable
program where children are placed based on skill and experience.
Students can move up a level each time they take the class to take on more
advanced concepts and activities. At the end of each session, students will
be given a gift and Robotics Academy Student Progress Booklet. Learn to create 3D games and challenge your friends. We will be creating
games for the PC version of Kodu, Microsoft’s award-winning game design
platform. Students will learn the art of rapid game design and develop
an understanding of underlying game mechanics. Students can choose
from 20 different game characters including flying saucers, submarines,
and a Pac-Man-like Kodu character then use an interactive terrain editor,
a bridge and path builder, and other tools to create their 3D game world.
Kodu is available as a free download for Windows. Instructor: Computer
