prairies left, we need to take on the mission of
helping regrow our prairies. Come learn the
importance of grassland plants, identify specific
species, and collect seeds to start your own

Honey Harvest Workshop
Ages 18 & Older

Calling all beekeepers! If you would like to
learn more about honey removal methods,
uncapping and extracting, filtering and
bottling, and labeling and marketing this
class is for you. Charles Lorence will lead this
workshop which includes a trip to a bee yard
so gear up. We will proceed out to the bee
yards from that point. Please note: bring protective
gear, sunscreen and bottled water. If needed, rain date

The Learn from the Experts (LFE) classes
are offered in partnership with the Geneva
Park District, Forest Preserve District of Kane
County, and the St. Charles Park District.

Put your skills to the test in Peck’s first family
bug catching tournament. With bug boxes
and an identification sheet in hand, humanely
catch, check off, and release as many species
as possible. Compete to win a bug-tastic prize!

Discover native blooming species in the
garden. Learn how to manage the garden
when the growing season draws to a close.
Landscape Architect Trish Beckjord will share
her extensive knowledge of landscaping with
natives, with a particular emphasis on the
garden in autumn. Please note: dress for the weather,
this class will be held outdoors. All registration is through
the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. To register
