The Learn from the Experts ( LFE ) classes are offered in partnership with the Geneva Park District , Forest Preserve District of Kane County , and the St . Charles Park District .
Dragonflies and Damselflies : “ Triassic Park ” Survivors
Ages 18 +
1 Class Learn how to identify our native dragonflies and damselflies and attract them to your local pond or wetland . During this two-hour workshop presented by environmental biologist Cathy White , you ’ ll learn about these amazing creatures and then get the chance to examine them in their native habitat while we explore the nearby aquatic systems . Summer Tree ID
Ages 18 +
1 Class This field class will begin with an introduction to basic plant morphology needed for tree identification . We will take a walk on the wooded trails to learn the common hardwood trees . 1 class They buzz , bite , annoy , and frustrate you until you can ’ t stand to be outside anymore . Not to mention they carry diseases that can be detrimental to your health ! 1 class Bats are the only mammals capable of true flight . With extremely elongated fingers and a wing membrane stretched between , the bat ’ s wing anatomically resembles the human hand . Learn more about these fascinating animals and how they manage to survive . Instructor : Trish Burns . ( TB )
