Starfish Swim Team®
All Ages (Completed Starfish Stroke School) 8 Classes
This program is a great introduction to competitive swimming. Students learn and refine the competitive strokes plus develop an understanding
of basic training principles such as using a pace clock, starts and turns, and racing.(SS)

StarGuard Jr. Lifeguard Program®
Ages 12-14
12 Classes
Want to become a Lifeguard? Training includes both classroom and in-
water. Participants will also have the opportunity to shadow a Guard
Captain at Sunset Pool upon completion. Please note: depending on class size in
July, there is potential to participate in the Illinois Lifeguard Games. (SS)

Starguard Lifeguard Certification Course
Ages 15+
6 Classes
Learn lifeguard skills from our experienced pool managers. Participants
will learn to perform CPR, First Aid, and Water Rescues. Certification
requirements include: the ability to swim 200 yards, retrieve a 10lb brick
from the bottom of the 12 foot deep well, tread water for three minutes,
and score at least an 80% or above on the written exam. Please note: must
attend all trainings. Fee covers the cost of annual certification, a lifeguard shirt, a lifeguard
swimsuit, and CPR masks. (SS)
