Newspaper Club : Geneva Teen Insider

Ages 10-16

2 Classes This just in ! The Geneva park district is looking for teen reporters , writers , editors , and photographers for our Geneva Insider ! We will meet twice a month to discuss the month ’ s featured stories and articles that will be written . Registration deadline : April 6 for April Class and May 4 for May Class . ( BD )

PRE-REGISTRATION : $ 5 ( N / R $ 8 ) Code : 1311301-01

EGG-MAZING RACE MISSION : Teams must solve a series of clues and challenges scattered throughout Wheeler Park in order to find the bunny hiding in the dark . Be one of the top teams to complete our mission and win a variety of prizes including gift certificates to local restaurants .

EGG HUNT MISSION : Collect as many eggs as possible in the allotted time . Eggs are filled with various prizes and candy .

NECESSITIES : Bring your own flashlight . Dress for the weather , we hunt rain or shine . Bring a bag for your eggs and prizes .

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT YOUR MISSION : Advance registration is recommended , by Monday , April 3 . Day-Of Registration will be accepted . Parents must sign a waiver before participation . All teams are required to have one adult team captain .

CHECK-IN : BEGINS AT 5:00 PM

DAY-OF REGISTRATION : $ 10 ( N / R $ 15 )

Parent Volunteers are needed for Team Captains ! All teams are required to have an adult captain . If a team does not have a captain they will be randomly assigned one . If you are interested in being a team captain , email Becky : bdensmore @ genevaparks . com

Ages 10-16 Calling all teens ! We want your input ! The first Thursday of each month we will be holding our Teen Planning Committee ! This is your chance for you and your friends to tell us what you would like to see for our Teen programs . We hope to see you there ! Babysitting Training Class

Ages 10-16

2 Class This class teaches future babysitters all the skills needed to have a successful and fulfilling time taking care of children . Fun activities and group discussions allow the students to actively participate in every aspect of class . Registration deadline : May 1 . Instructor : Geneva Park District Staff . ( BD )

5 Classes In this 5-week course , teens will learn practical tools and ideas to help them navigate life and feel more confident while doing so . This teaching is directly from leadership guru John Maxwell ’ s YouthMax program . Participants will learn key elements to discovering and developing the leadership ability that is already inside them . ( BD / EB )
