Terrific Train Day
Wandering Tree Estate features scenic railways quietly
weaving paths throughout this beautiful, private estate
gardens and grounds. In this 10 acre garden experience: The
Shabui Garden Railway; a Japanese water and stroll garden;
The Gloree and Tryumphant Garden Railway, which includes
1500 feet of linear track, bridges, trestles and a waterfall that
flows into a miniature lake. Be prepared to walk on uneven
surfaces, must be steady on your feet. Next stop: Chessie’s
Restaurant in the Barrington Ice House Mall. Choose: 1.) roast loin
of pork, 2.) chicken parmesan, 3.) crusted tilapia or 4.) baked penne pasta.
Please indicate your choice when you register. Free time available to
visit the shops before we head out to Norton’s USA, a uniquely
American store. Trip includes transportation, tour and lunch. Please note

Elvis Lives - Fireside Theatre
The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll lives on in an unforgettable live
musical journey across Elvis’ life. His iconic style, embraced
by many of today’s artists, continues to intrigue audiences
of all generations. Featuring champions and finalists from
Elvis Presley Enterprises’ worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute
Artist Contest, a live band, and exciting and talented singers
and dancers; audiences “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with this
phenomenal theatrical concert experience. Enjoy a delicious
meal before the show, including pork ribs and fried chicken,
baked potato stuffed with steamed broccoli and cheese,
salad, cole slaw, bread, and custard with roasted pecans in

Elton, Tom, and Rod
Would you believe Elton John, Tom Jones and Rod Stewart
are all in one show? Fabulous but faux. This is a fun tribute to
these legends from the Sixties to now. Before the show enjoy
a delicious luncheon at Diplomat West. Lunch includes soup
and salad, breast of chicken, veggie, potato, rolls, dessert,
and coffee or tea. Trip includes lunch, show and transportation.

Autumn Fest and Stronghold Castle
The heart of the Autumn on Parade Festival is its Farmer’s
Market and Craft Fair. 150 craft booths surround the 125 year
old courthouse in Oregon. Antique tractors and classic cars
will be on display just across the Rock River. A unique two-
room school house built in 1883 will be available for viewing.
The fest offers a delicious food court. Tours of Stronghold
Castle will be available as well as food and entertainment.
A wristband may be purchased for $2 for unlimited rides
on the festival’s shuttles to any or all of these attractions.
Please note: trip involves some walking and on uneven ground. Trip includes

Ellington’s & Ellwood
Try out this student run class located in Holmes Student
Center at NIU. Our lunch will feature a seasonal fruit and
vegetable, and includes a soup or appetizer entrée (veggie
or meat) served with a side and dessert. Coffee and tea are
included. After lunch, we will stop at the Ellwood House.
This museum reflects the central role of Isaac Ellwood in the
development of the barbed wire industry in America. Trip
includes transportation, lunch and tour. Deadline: 10/5. (DR)
