New ! Dance descriptions with level progression

Combo : 3 +
Intro to beginning levels
Beginning : 4-6 yrs .
For the dancers who have learned beginning levels .
Basic :
5-7 yrs . The step about beginning
Level 1 :
7 + yrs . Any student in level one may automatically opt
in to join Performance Company
Level 2 :
9 + yrs . Any student in level two or above may
automatically opt in to join competitive company
Level 3 :
12 + yrs . As our program grows , levels will progress .
Mommy and Me
In this class 18-29 months children learn coordination through dance and creative movement / play with a parental figure . Children need dance attire , adults need comfortable shoes .
Tiny Toes and Pre-Ballet
Tiny Toes and Pre-Ballet introduce toddlers to simple ballet movements and terminology through fun music , props , and choreography . Pre-Ballet 2 prepares four year old dancers for beginning ballet . Tiny Toes & Pre-Ballet Required Attire Includes :
• Leotard and Tights
• Pink Ballet Shoes ( with laces tied in a knot , then cut )
• Hair pulled away from face
• Ballet skirts may be worn
Combo Classes
Combo classes give dancers an introduction to different dance styles each week . Please note that both shoes are required for these classes . So if the class is Ballet / Jazz the dancer needs ballet and jazz shoes . Level 2 of combo classes are by invitation only once the child has progressed through the combo class .
Hip Hop
Hip Hop dancing emulations steps created by hip-hop culture , seen everywhere from music videos to dance teams . Hip Hop Required Dance Attire Includes :
• Hair pulled away from face
• Clean non-black soled sneakers ( Black jazz shoes will be needed for recital / shows )
• Form fitting shirt
• Form fitting jazz , sweat pants , or shorts may be worn
• No baggy clothes
Musical Theatre and Jazz
In Musical Theatre class dancers learn about famous choreographers , dances , and styles from classic and current musicals . Jazz dance introduces participants to new rhythms , steps , and movements in a fun and exciting atmosphere that will increase flexibility and strength . Required Dance Attire Includes :
• Leotard or form fitting camisole , tights and tan jazz shoes
• Tight fitting jazz pants , skirt , or spandex shorts may be worn
• No baggy or street clothes

Dancers aged 4-6 who are not yet ready for beginning
Combo 2 :
level , but who Combo 2 have mastered pre-ballet .
Beginning Ballet Dancers aged 4-6 who have mastered the requirements of pre-ballet . Dancers will learn beginning ballet movements and terminology at an age appropriate pace .

Dancers aged 5-7 who have mastered the requirements of Beginning Ballet learn more progressive ballet movements and terminology .
Dancers 4-7 by invitation only , who have mastered their age appropriate level requirements learn dance styles at a quicker ( allegro ) pace .
Dancers aged 7 + who have mastered Ballet Basics progress to more advanced barre and centre combinations , choreography , and terminology .
Dancers aged 9 + who have mastered the requirements for Ballet 1 progress to a more advanced barre and centre combinations , choreography , and terminology .
Dancers aged 12 + who have mastered the requirements of Ballet 2 progress to doing a full barre , more advanced centre , and across the floor combinations .
Ballet Required Dance Attire Includes :
• Leotard , tights , ballet skirt may be worn , and hair pulled back in neat bun
• For beginning ballet and ballet basics : leather full sole ballet shoes
• For ballet 1 +: split sole canvas ballet shoes
• No baggy or street clothes
Tap
Develop coordination , rhythm , and timing . Participants learn technique with barre , centre work , and combinations . Please note : label shoes with name and phone number . Required Dance Attire Includes :
• Levels Pre-Basic : Black Tap Shoes
• Levels 1 +: Tan tap shoes
• Leotard or form fitting camisole , tights and hair pulled back
• Tight fitting jazz pants , skirts , or spandex shorts my be worn
• No baggy or street clothes
New ! Dance Company Format
Performance Pre-Company : Any student by invitation or approved for level 1 by instructor may automatically choose to enroll . Please note : Performance company members must take two classes per week ( one technique class and one Performance Company class ).
Competitive Company : Any dancer by invitation , or approved for level 1 or 2 by instructor may automatically choose to enroll . The level placement class in August is only for dividing the company by dance style and level . Please note : Competitive company dancers must take a minimum of 3 classes per week ( two technique classes and one Competition Company class ). Please note : if the dancer wants to compete in more than one dance , they will be required to take that additional company class ( i . e . lyrical company class or Finale Company Class )
In the placement class dancers will experience different styles of dance to decide which / how many styles in which they would like to compete .
