Be prepared to learn and absorb new food facts Did you know you actually need fats to lose weight? Also, did you know that the canned meat you eat every day is harmful for your health? This surprise is going to be a major step in our plan. You may think most of the foods you eat are good for you and healthy, while in fact, they're not! Therefore, be prepared to learn about food! Even if you have been cooking for years, you will come across several facts about food that you did not know previously. Therefore, be prepared to absorb the new facts I will tell you. You're going to come across alternative sources of energy, totally different meal plans and even shocking disadvantages of your usual diet. Therefore, prepare yourself and walk into this arena with an open mind that is ready to see, learn and absorb new things! Remember that you will have to train your brain. Many food items that you previously believed were fine may not be acceptable now. For example, you have heard all your life that meat is the best source of protein. Having heard it for so many years, you may find it bizarre if your diet does not include it. In fact, you may even find yourself thinking that you are wiser than the plan and you absolutely must stick to the essentials you have taught all your life. How are we going to do this? How are we going to make sure that no change goes unnoticed? No fact goes unlearnt and no tip goes unused? Here's how. We will keep a written record! Again, I must stress that we are talking about a lifestyle not merely a diet plan based on a few weeks. Therefore, you're going to have to make sure that you record your performance. I don't want you to remember your stats… Write them down! Before you even start with the first meal you're going to set- up a journal to record all of your progress. You will also keep a stat sheet which will contain all your measurements, right down to the centimeter. In fact, I even recommend taking pictures of yourself; preferably in the same clothes after every few weeks. How will this help? You will be surprised at how even the most minor change will motivate you. Every inch of your belly lost, or a pound shed off, will tell you to continue and lose more! We all know by now that we can't lose weight without thorough motivation and dedication. Trust me; the drop in weight on the scale and on the measuring tape is going to become the biggest reasons for you to continue. Therefore, don't miss any of it! Now that you have a journal aside, let us move ahead with learning about your weight gain and the techniques you will need to lose it.
