Geilojordet
Idyllic yard in Geilo center with old buildings from the
1700-1800’s. Art exhibits in the barn. Outdoor café with,
among other things, sale of sour cream porridge during
the summer.
Geilojordet is an idyllic yard
with ancient buildings from
the 1700-1800’s. This is a gem in
Geilo center for recreation, expe-
riences and activities. During the
summer, there is an outdoor café
that serves sour cream porridge
and other tradtitional local food.
In the barn, there are exhibits,
and all the buildings are open for
visitors. For the children, there
is a nice play area; and they can
visit goat kids and chickens.
This is a large and unique collection that has been built up over 30 years,
and which contains an incredible diversity of different types of wooden drinking
vessels. The artefacts are from different parts of Norway and made

in the period between 1600 and ca. 1850. This is a national treasure and
should be seen by anyone who is interested in Norwegian cultural heritage.
