The art gallery with changing exhi-
bits and the church square with cof-
fee and waffle sales, are both open
Monday—Saturday from 11-15. It is
also possible to have a guided tour
of the church.

Cultural Church
Geilo kulturkyrkje was
finished in the autumn
of 2010. The architect
was Jorunn Westad
Brusletto.
The beautiful glass
paintings were made by
the artist, Kjell Nupen.
He is also responsible
for the design of the
baptismal fountain and
alter; both of which
are created of Swedish
basaltstein, a rare type
of granite.

Hol Old Church
Hol Old Church stands nicely
and peacefully by the Holsfjor-
den lake. The church was built
as a small stave church in the
1200’s. Later, it was expanded
and rebuilt several times. Just
the apse, the semicircular
section toward the east, has
been preserved from the
original stave church. The two
old buildings, Kyrkjestugu and
Prestestugu stand close by.
