worked closely with the board members to help in any way we
could. It was a good morning and it was a lot of fun!”
There was a Planet Fitness booth at the event where staff
handed out water and shared the PF cheer during the competition. Brothers and joint PFKC owners, Brad and Greg Henson,
plan on participating in the triathlon next year as competitors.
However, they are opting for the ‘divide and conquer’ technique of
teams of three, one person per exercise.
The Henson brothers also supported another memorial

fundraiser two weeks prior to the triathlon. For the second
year, PFKC Inc.’s PF Blue Springs, Missouri, location sponsored
the Blue Springs Dizzle Sizzle 5K and Tutu Trot Mile Fun Run
benefiting the Tiffany Mogenson Memorial Fund. The races took
place July 19, raising $6,500.
The fund was established to commemorate Mogenson, who
in 2013, was tragically killed by an intoxicated driver. Mogenson
was an accomplished dancer and cheerleader who opened her
own dance studio, The Point, in her hometown of Blue Springs.
The Tiffany Mogenson Memorial Fund awards scholarships to
dancers ages 7-21 who wish to pursue additional dance education
or dance-related opportunities.
Abby Henson, marketing/purchasing coordinator for PFKC,
and daughter of franchisee Greg Henson, was classmates with
Mogenson. The two danced together for three years on the high
school dance team, Touch of Silver. When the 5K fundraiser was
created, Abby felt that Planet Fitness had to help.
“I personally encouraged them [Greg and Brad Henson]
to sponsor it because it was such a tragedy that happened. Not
only did we dance together but she also opened a dance studio
in our hometown, so it affected a lot of people,” said Abby. The
club also contributed financially by donating waters for the 150
runners.
“We are pleased to be a part of the Tiffany Mogenson event.
