he first of July signals the same bittersweet thought in
students and parents: One more month left of summer.
As the end of summer approaches, parents and students begin
prepping for the school year ahead, which always includes backto-school shopping. For some families, this annual necessity is a
financial burden. To help alleviate some of this burden, PF Growth
Partners, LLC’s Jackson, Tennessee, club partnered with the
Women’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program (WRAP) to host
a school supply drive from July 1-31.
The club accepted donations in the form of school supplies
that were given to WRAP and then distributed to families
throughout the area at the beginning of August. To increase
participation, a raffle was held in conjunction with the drive in
which a donor could win $100 worth of Planet Fitness merchandise. To be eligible for the raffle, contributors had to present a
receipt showing that they had paid $5 or more for the donated
supplies.
“We held the school drive at all of our PF locations
throughout Tennessee. It was a great opportunity to reach out
to the community and give back to those in need. The management team in Jackson did a great job in promoting this program
